We are a responsible, top-tier operator mining the resources that help power the modern world. Copper is one of the critical metals needed for the global transition to a low-carbon future. Knowing that mining impacts the environment, we conduct our business in an environmentally responsible manner, which includes playing our role in mitigating climate change. This is vital to our ability to operate and grow, and our stakeholders expect and deserve no less. From exploration through closure, we apply best practices in environmental management to reduce our footprint and contribute to sustainable development everywhere we operate. We do this in a number of ways, including:

Applying the Mining Association of Canada’s Towards Sustainable Mining environmental protocols and guides at our Canadian and international operations

Maintaining ISO 14001 environmental management systems certifications at all production operations
Adhering strictly to our Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Policy, which sets the standards by which we operate

We care about communities and contributing to their well-being. Our goal is to support sustained prosperity for people, communities and broader regional economies. We develop partnerships and fund a wide range of initiatives that encompass education, local employment, health care, infrastructure development and environmental stewardship. We set out to build close and collaborative relationships with our community and government partners by understanding their priorities and integrating them into our work. This engagement begins during the exploration phase and continues through a mine’s operating life and closure. Our approach is based on mutual respect, trust and continuous dialogue.
